Valerie and Billy wanted something simple, fun and memorable for their elopement.
Valerie and Billy's first vacation was a camping trip at Gooseberry Falls State Park when they first began dating. They hiked far up the river to sleep along the flowing Gooseberry River. Years later these two decided that it only made sense to bring all their closest friends together and do the 6 mile hike up the river to their favorite spot on the river that holds so many memories for the two of them.
On the day of everyone loaded out of their cars, applied all the bug spray they had to bring, loaded packs with water and any essential they would need for the hike and began the trek. The trail winds you up and around a variety of the Gooseberry falls making for an extremely scenic hike. Billy and Valerie lead the way, showing everyone where to go, as it was the first time many of their friends had ever visited this park.
Once everyone arrived at the Fifth Falls, Valerie changed shoes and did her hair with the amazing help of friends. Billy applied more bug spray and the nervous excitement grew. These two said their vows next to a rushing and flowing waterfall. Pouring their hearts out to one another in the most intimate and private ways.
To celebrate and refuel on snacks, a picnic blanket was laid out and everyone chatted and caught up more before hiking back down the river to the cars. The evening closed out with everyone driving back to the Air Bnb in Two Harbors, MN. Cake was eaten and pizza was served to end out the evening!
